The Brooklyn Nets last played the New York Knicks at the end of January and were able to come up with a huge 103-80 road blowout against their local rivals. The loss gave the Knicks a 15-26 first half record, including going just 7-14 at home.

The Nets were the better team in this one right from the start, outscoring the Knicks 27-16 in the first quarter before going into the half with a 14-point lead. New York got off to a decent start in the second half, but were still outscored in the final two quarters and eventually lost the game by 23 points. The Nets were able to hold the Knicks to just 33.8% shooting from the field and forced them into 16 turnovers in the game.

New Jersey didn't actually get the best production from their starters in this one, but Joe Johnson had a solid game with 25 points, six rebounds and five assists. Andray Blatche provided 19 points and 12 rebounds in 27 minutes off of the bench.

Knicks star Carmelo Anthony was the only starter to score in double figures in this one, putting up 26 points and bringing down 12 rebounds in the loss. J.R. Smith had 15 points and Tyson Chandler had 10 rebounds for the home side. The Knicks shot 37 free throws in this game, but were only able to make 24 of them.
