The Brooklyn Nets travel to face the Boston Celtics in both teams’ season opener. Boston has lost several key players over the past few years. One of their few remaining players, Rajon Rondo, is coming off an injury. Rondo broke his left hand, but is recovering faster than expected. Celtics Head Coach, Stevens, plans to play Rondo in 4 – 5 minute stints if Rondo plays at all. Marcus Smart will replace Rondo in the event he does not play in their upcoming game against the Nets. Smart is a young player and admits to being a little nervous about replacing one of the NBA’s best point guards. The Celtics are trying to rebuild their team. With Rondo limited due to injury it will be tough to beat the Nets who made it to the 2nd round of the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2013/2014 season.

Kevin Garnett, now a Brooklyn Net, is ready to face his former team in the City where he earned his first NBA Championship. Garnett has taken on a leadership role for the Nets, pushing young players like Mason Plumlee to maximize their potential. Garnett is known for his high intensity and leadership. Plumlee commented on his own development saying his confidence is at an NBA high. Garnett is happy with Plumlee’s development and it is likely the two will have good chemistry in the post.
