The Philadelphia 76ers were able to get the 111-102 win against the Boston Celtics earlier this month, which gave them a 2-to-1 advantage in the season series. The Celtics were able to out-rebound the 76ers 49-34 in the game, but Philadelphia shot well from the field and forced Boston into 22 turnovers to help them get the win. It was just the 76ers' second win in a two month stretch, but it did come against one of the other lower-ranked teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Celtics had a two-point lead going into halftime, but the 76ers were able to take the lead going into the fourth quarter after outscoring Boston 27-20 in the third. A late 11-4 run helped Philadelphia hold on for the win and notch just their 17th win of the season.

76ers' second-year center Henry Sims had the best game of his career in this one, scoring a career-high 24 points and also grabbing a career-best nine rebounds. Point guard Michael Carter-Williams also put up 24 points to go along with his six assists and six rebounds in a nice all-around game. Backup shooting guard Elliot Williams came off of the bench to score 15 points for the road team.

Jerryd Bayless made five three-pointers in the game for the Celtics and finished with 23 points in the losing effort. Brandon Bass was Boston's other top player by putting up a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
