The Atlanta Hawks will migrate to the far North to challenge the Toronto Raptors. During the offseason, the teams executed a trade with each other in which the Raptors acquired Lou Williams and Lucas Nogueira. Lou Williams commented on the advantage of joining a team with 10 returning players, claiming to have learned the plays quickly and feels he is ready to contribute. Dwane Casey, the Raptors Head Coach, believes Williams will be a defensive force in this game and throughout the season. With 48 wins out of 82 games last year and 10 returning players the Raptors should do well this year.
Atlanta lost to Toronto in both their meeting last season. Coach Casey (Toronto) admits that Atlanta is a better team than they were last year. Atlanta saw limited success last year with 38 wins out of 82 games. Despite the 10 game discrepancy in their records last year, these teams are very similar. Several players on both teams are 1 to 3 years away from peaking in their skill level. Both teams look to run the fast-break after defensive stops and rebounds. It is safe to assume that at least one of these teams is underrated. With an extremely competitive Eastern Conference it could still be a tough season for the Raptors and the Hawks. This is likely to be a fun match-up.
