On Wednesday, March 5, the Atlanta Hawks will be visiting the Portland Trailblazers. The Hawks are coming off a loss at the hands of the Phoenix Suns by a score of 129-120. In that game, the Hawks ran into an offensively sharp Suns team. The Suns were setting season highs in multiple categories. They reached season highs in total points, points in a half and assists. The Suns put up 79 points in the first half which was the most in a half for this NBA season. It was too much for Jeff Teague and the Hawks to overcome. Teague led the Hawks with 29 points, six rebounds, nine assists, two steals and a block.
Portland is also coming off a loss. The Trail Blazers got a visit from the Lakers and Los Angeles left town with a 107-106 win. Portland's loss came at the hands of Wesley Johnson and his game winner. Johnson finished the game with 14 points but none were bigger than the lob that Johnson received from Kent Bazemore to put the Lakers up for good.
Atlanta and Portland are looking to get in the win column when they play on Wednesday night. Atlanta has dominated over the last 10 matchups between these two teams by winning eight out of 10 straight up. Atlanta is also 7-3 against the spread when playing Portland. However, Atlanta has been awful straight up and ATS over the last month and have covered in only two of their last 10. They'll be looking to buck that trend against a Portland team that has fared better in the win column and ATS.
Portland is 5-5 ATS over their last 10 and have covered in three of their last five.
