The Atlanta Hawks were able to  top the Minnesota Timberwolves 120-113 despite a fantastic game from Kevin Love when these two last met. Minnesota took a 6 point lead into the half, but the Hawks used good three-point shooting from Kyle Korver to outscore the Wolves 38-21 in the third. Minnesota couldn't get back into the game after that despite scoring 38 points in the final quarter.

Korver scored 24 points in the game for the Hawks, including three three-pointers in that pivotal third quarter. Paul Millsap fouled out of the game, but not before he scored 20 points and added 13 rebounds for the eventual winners. DeMarre Carroll and Jeff Teague both scored 19 points in the game.

No one will blame Love for the loss. The Hawks simply couldn't stop him all game, as he scored 43 points in the contest, including making 17 of the 18 free throws he attempted. He was also great on the glass, pulling down 19 rebounds. Minnesota definitely missed starting center Nikola Pekovic in this one. The Hawks used a smaller lineup pretty much all game, so Pekovic, who was out of the game with a bruised knee, could have been used to take advantage.

Timberwolves point guard J.J. Barea was ejected from the game with just under seven minutes remaining. After receiving a technical foul, he continued to argue with the ref, who then threw him out of the game.
