On Friday night, the Atlanta Hawks will be going on the road to face the tough defense of the Charlotte Hornets. The Hawks were able to beat the Hornets in three out of their four games against each other last season.

On Wednesday, the Hawks moved to 0-2 on the road when they were beaten 94-92 by the San Antonio Spurs. They only went to the free throw line 11 times in that game and they shot 41.3 percent from the field.

The Hawks are near the bottom of the league in rebounding right now with just 38.7 rebounds per game. Their best player has been point guard Jeff Teague, who is averaging 16.7 points, seven assists, and 2.3 steals per game. Center Al Horford has scored 14 points per game and is the team leader in rebounds with eight per game.

The Hornets snapped their three-game losing streak on Wednesday when they beat the Miami Heat 96-89 at home. They held the heat to just 39 percent shooting in that win, and they finished with a 49-36 rebounding advantage.

Through five games, the Hornets are fourth in the league in points allowed by giving up just 92.4 points per game. Small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has had a good start to the season by averaging 11.3 points per game with 7.7 rebounds per game. Veteran Al Jefferson has a team-high 20.4 points per game and he has blocked 2.2 shots per game.
