The Chicago Bulls will pay a visit to the TD Garden this Wednesday night to square off against the Boston Celtics in an Eastern Conference clash between two teams looking to get back on track with a win. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on NBA TV.
Chicago’s 103-89 loss to San Antonio on Monday night as a 3.5-point home favorite was its fourth in its last six games. It is now 30-21 straight up on the year and 21-30 against the spread. The Bulls have failed to cover in three of their last four games, and the total has gone “over” in three of those games.
The Celtics seven-game winning streak came to an end on Monday night with a 94-91 loss to Charlotte as 4.5-point road favorites. The total stayed “under” the 191 point line after going over in their previous four games. Boston is now 27-24 SU on the year and 21-27-3 ATS. It returns home where it is 19-9 SU and 14-12-2 ATS.
Bulls at Celtics Betting Storylines
Consistent play from one night to the next continues to dog the Bulls with a 5-5 record in their last 10 games. Injuries have taken their toll during this stretch. Another problem has been the holes in Chicago’s vaunted defense. It is giving up an average of 91.9 points a game, but has been torched for 100 or more points in three of its last four games.
Offensively, the Bulls remain one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league with 93.6 points a game. Luol Deng (16.9 points) and Carlos Boozer (15.8 points) have led the way, but the team has only three other players averaging more than 10 points. Chicago is shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from three-point range. It still remains strong beneath the boards with 43.6 rebounds a game.
Many people wrote the Celtics off once Rajon Rondo went down with a knee injury, but the rest of the team rallied to reel off seven straight victories in his absence. Whether or not the loss to the Bobcats was just a hiccup along the way remains to be seen, but this contest should be a first good test. Boston is another team that is known for playing tight defense in giving up an average of 96.3 points a game. It has held teams below that number in five of its last seven games.
Another key to the recent run was an offensive outburst that has seen the Celtics put up over 104 points a game in their last nine games after averaging just 96.3 points this season. Paul Piece remains the team’s leading scorer with 18.7 points a game, and Kevin Garnett is averaging 15.2 points. With Rondo out of the lineup, Boston has just two other players scoring in double figures. However, additional help from the bench is adding over 33 points a game.

Bulls at Celtics Picks and Betting Predictions
Given the way points have been flying around in both these team’s recent outings, a play on the over could be your best bet. However, if you are looking to play a side stick with the Celtics. They come into this matchup in better overall form and will bounce back from Monday night’s shocker with a strong performance in front of the hometown crowd.
