Now we're on pause as we reach the halfway point of the NASCAR season. As we sit, there have been 11 different drivers to win a race this season in just 13 races. If this trend continues to go forward, it could make for an interesting playoff picture as we get near the end of the season. That said, we go on a pause this weekend as we get to watch the midseason exhibition event named the NASCAR All-Star Race. After all the drama of this season so far, we get a break to watch some fast paced and fun NASCAR action that will lead to one driver winning a big purse. I know I can't speak for everyone, but the break is well needed for me.
This weekend NASCAR will be in Fort Worth, TX for 2022 NASCAR All Star Race and it will be the second year straight of this taking place at Texas Motor Speedway. This race starts as a 50-lap open race when is broken down into 3 stages that include 20 laps, 20 laps and then a final 10 laps. The winners of each of these stages will advance to the All-Star Race and that race consists of 125 laps that will be broken down into 3 25 lap stages and it will end with a 50-lap finale. The winner of this race will take home a smooth million dollars. Last season we saw Kyle Larson taking home the checkered flag and he is primed to do it again as he's the favorite this weekend.

AdventHealth 400 Recap
In a weekend that was filled with mechanical issues and mistakes on pit-road, Kurt Busch ran the best race of his season and took home the win to be the 11th different driver to put a notch in the win column. It was an intense race and competitive in the end, but it was Busch who made the push past Kyle Larson on lap 259 while Larson scraped the outside wall. With just 7 laps to go at that point, Busch was able to finish 1.413 seconds ahead of Larson to get his first win of the season and put him in playoff contention.
Busch was quick to thank his teammates and his brother for what they've done for him. This comes after Kurt passed Kyle after the restart on Lap 235. Kyle ended up taking third in this race while Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell took 4th and 5th respectively. There were many drivers who ran into issues on this day, but Kurt Busch wasn't one of them. He can now go into the second half of the season knowing he has a leg up on most of the competition when it comes to putting himself in a position to win a Championship.
NASCAR Playoff Standings
We currently have two drivers that have two wins on the season, and they are William Byron (415 points) and Ross Chastain (407 points). They are in a great position as we reach the halfway point of the season. Following them comes Chase Elliott with 475 points, Kyle Busch with 417 points and Joey Logano with 396 points. These drivers round out the top 5, but there are 6 other drivers with wins on the season including Alex Bowman, Kyle Larson, Chase Brisco, Austin Cindric, Kurt Busch and Denny Hamlin. The cut-off for the playoffs is at the 16th spot where Aric Almirola sits, but if this season keeps trending how it is, we might have 16 drivers with wins.

Seven active drivers have won the NASCAR All-Star Race with Kevin Harvick and Kyle Larson both notching two wins each. However, this race was generally held in Charlotte before being relocated because of COVID reasons. The inaugural All-Star even in Fort Worth was won by Kyle Larson and that's a good reason to have him as the favorite. However, he hasn't been as dominant this season as the prior. Kyle Busch has 4 wins on this track, and we like him to get his 5th this weekend.
Tony's Pick: Take Kyle Busch (+700)
