NASCAR heads to Nashville, Tennessee to the Nashville Superspeedway for the Ally 400. It's a return to an intermediate track that opened back in 2001. This track is a 1.3 mile oval with 9 degrees of banking in the front straightaway and 6 degrees in the back straightaway. It hosted Xfinity Series and Truck races until 2011 and saw NASCAR return to the track in 2021 where Kyle Larson took the checkered flag. Not only did Larson take the victory, but he also set the fastest race time on this track finishing in 3:30:23 last season.

There isn't a long history to refer to when trying to determine who will race well here this weekend, but we have some ideas. Some of the racers that should perform well include last year's winner in Kyle Larson, Ross Chastain who finished in second place last season and Ryan Blaney, who is one of the highest rated drivers of the season. It should be a fun race and we're looking forward to all the action.

it only took him 195 races, but Daniel Suarez finally got his first victory. His team celebrated along with him, but what really made it cool was how the other drivers embraced Suarez on his first win when they all drove past him congratulating him. It goes to show you the kind of man that Daniel Suarez is and what his fellow drivers think about him.

Kyle Larson had the pole and led for 26 laps with a Stage 1 win. However, he had his right front wheel come off heading into turn 2 after a pit stop and that's a problem. Cliff Daniels (Larson's crew chief) is now being suspended for the next four races because of this. Outside of that, it was all Suarez. In order to get the win, Suarez had to battle Chris buescher in the closing laps. Suarez was able to pull away and get the win on the Northern Californian road course by a whopping 3.849 seconds. He led this race for 47 out of the 110 laps which was a race-best and ended up with one of the largest wins by margin of victory.

With this win, Suarez joins some elite company as the fifth driver not being born in the United States to win in the premier series. The other drivers include Marcos Ambrose, Juan Pablo Montoya, Earl Ross, and Mario Andretti.

NASCAR Playoff Standings

Not much has changed at the top of the points standings. Ross Chastain, who has 520 points on the season along with a pair of wins with Joey Logano right behind him with 506 points. Rounding out the top-5 are William Byron with 466 points, Denny Hamlin with 325 points and Chase Elliott with 536 points (1 win). There are currently seven other drivers with wins on the season and four spots still up for grabs with a win.

Kyle Larson is the favorite going into this weekend and rightfully so. He won the inaugural race last season in dominating fashion. Out of 300 laps, Larson led for 264 of them. He controlled the race from start to finish. However, his teammate Ross Chastain is right there at +800 and it is well known that he drives fast on hot tracks and it's expected to hot and stormy on Sunday. It's been scorching in Nashville for the last two weeks and that bodes well for Chastain.
