We're finally at the semi-final race before the Championship and we're at Martinsville for the Xfinity 500. At the finale of this race, we'll see 4 drivers facing off for the trophy. This is a very narrow track, so we plan on seeing a lot of action and by that we mean a lot of contact. It's always the same way and it makes for a very exciting race. When smoke clears, we'll be one step closer to finding out who will take home the championship for the 2021 season.

The playoff field is tight right now. Ryan Blaney sits only one spot behind Kyle Busch for that final slot in Phoenix. There isn't much space between those two and other drivers as well. Martin Truex Jr is three points back, while Brad Keselowski is only six points behind. You are not going to want to miss this high-pressure race.

Hollywood Casino 400 Results

After earning the win last weekend, Kyle Larson earned the pole position in this race. The race was red flagged for rain just 10 laps in and twenty minutes later racing resumed. That said, handles were not great for drivers as the wind was pushing the cars around all day. Brad Keselowski was on top of it and battled Larson for the lead until Kyle Busch hit the wall and cut his tire. This brought out the yellow caution, and NASCAR deemed it worthy of qualifying as the competition caution. This would mean the entire field would come around to pit. Matt DiBenedetto decided to only get fuel on the pit stop and when racing continued, he battled Kyle Larson for a while but was eventually overtaken. Larson would go on to win this stage.

Chase Elliott would take the lead in the second stage and overtake his teammate. However, he wouldn't be able to hold onto the lead as drivers would pit on a green flag stop on lap 38. William Byron would take the lead and end up winning Stage 2.

In the final stage of the Hollywood Casino 400, Kyle Larson was shot out of a cannon. Tyler Reddick battled and made a big move from the bottom of the track to the top to try to take over the lead. Anthony Alfredo would bring out another caution due to hitting the wall. During the yellow, only Larson and Reddick stayed out of pit road. After the restart, Reddick would fall way back, and William Byron would come back and take the lead from Larson.

After a wreck involving Austin Dillon and Ryan Blaney, the caution would come out. After the restart, Larson left the field behind and ended up winning the race in impressive fashion.

NASCAR Playoff Standings Update

The final spot in the final 4 will be a battle as Ryan Blaney sits 1 point behind Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. is back just 3 points. In addition, Brad Keselowski sits just 6 points. back. That being said, you can expect a battle for the final four of the NASCAR season.

There is a lot riding on the line for many of these drivers, but we like Truex Jr in this one. He's 3 points back and he needs this win to solidify his spot in the final four drivers. He races well in Martinsville, and we think he'll pull it out.
