There isn’t a hotter driver right now than Kyle Larson, and with the playoffs creeping up on us, it couldn’t be a better time. He’s on a four-race win streak and will look to continue his good fortunes this weekend.

Pocono Raceway started hosting NASCAR Cup Series races back in 1974. Known as the “Tricky Triangle”, this track challenges the drivers with its fast, long straightaways and three turns that are lightly banked. This weekend will be quite a test for drivers as they’ll start with the Pocono Organics CBD 325 at 3:00 PM on Saturday, and then turn around for the Explore the Pocono Mountains 350 at 3:30 PM on Sunday.

It’s going to be a fun weekend for race fans!

Nashville Superspeedway was the home of cut tires and blown brake rotors last weekend. That said, Kyle Larson didn’t have any issues with his brake rotors as we didn’t use them too often. Larson led 264 of the 300 laps in this race and ended up taking the checkered flag. Ross Chastain finished 4.3 seconds behind Larson to grab the second spot and William Byron finished in third place.

Larson was reminded to conserve his fuel as he led the race for the final 78 laps. In that time, he had no issues on his way to his fourth straight win. However, Larson did have a couple close calls in the final 50 laps of the race as he had to avoid a little bit of trouble as he had a bit of debris stuck on the front of his car causing it to overheat. To get it off, he pulled in behind a lapped vehicle and the debris flew off allowing Larson to take off again.

It looked as if Hendrick Motorsports was going to get both the first and second place spot for a while as William Byron was running in second place late in the race. Hendrick Motorsports has finished in first and second in the last four races and it looked like one more was on the way. That being said, Byron wasn’t able to hold on to the second-place spot.

With Chase Elliott being DQ’d, Kyle Larson was able to make up 37 points on Denny Hamlin. Hamlin earned 6 stage points and finished 21st, which gave him 22 points on the day. With his third-place finish, William Byron moved to third in the points standings and is sitting 81 points behind Hamlin. Chase Elliott dropped to the fourth spot and sits 94 points behind the leader. Finally at 108 points behind Hamlin, Joey Logano is in fifth place and finished 10th on Sunday.

There are a few drivers to look out for at Pocono. Kyle Busch has seven top-10 finished in Pocono over his last eight races there. Martin Truex Jr. won this race back in 2015, and then again in 2018. Not only that, but he has finished in the top-6 five times in his last eight races here.

All that said, we think this might be the race where Denny Hamlin gets his first win. He’s been dominant here and has won six times. He also won two of his last three races here, with the other being a runner up.
