On to the second race of the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Playoffs. Kansas City began hosting NASCAR races back in 2001 and this race will span 1.5 miles on an asphalt oval.

This track is generally a tough track to win on if you're outside the top drivers. That said, we'll most likely not see any upsets this weekend. That doesn't mean it won't be a great race and one step closer to finding out who the champion will be. The main reason we say that seeing an underdog win this race is unlikely is because Kyle Larson is racing. He's looking for his third straight win this weekend and we don't see why he can't do it.

Starting on the pole after winning at the Charlotte ROVAL was Kyle Larson. It was much of the same until Lap 25 when the competition caution came out and grouped everyone back up. Kyle Busch would pit during the break but got a speeding penalty on pit road and that would put him in the back. William Byron would choose to only get to tires and would win the race out of pit road. After the restart, Bubba Wallace got loose and took out Ross Chastain and Alex Bowman among other drivers in a 10-car accident. While many cars came in for fuel during the caution, some chose to stay out, but would eventually have to come in to get gas late in the stage. Kyle Busch was able to move back up after his penalty and win the first stage.

Both Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch led the field back into the green. With some help from his teammate William Byron, Larson would take the lead away from Busch. Because of some vibration in his car, Chase Elliott would have to pit before the regular green flag pit window. When the leaders of the race pitted during a caution for debris, Elliott was able to get back on the lead lap. Kyle Larson would end up winning Stage 2.

In Stage 2, Kyle Larson would pull away from the pack and get a decent lead. A caution would come out with Denny Hamlin put Chase Briscoe into the wall and Joey Logano blew an engine with only 35 laps left in the race. Not long after, Chris Buescher was spun out by Kyle Busch but was able to save it. There would be some minor mix ups and collisions, but none of this made an impact on the run Kyle Larson was having and he won his second straight Playoff race.

NASCAR Cup Standings

Kyle Larson won once again and is at the top of the Playoff standings list. Behind him are Ryan Blaney with 4072 points, Denny Hamlin with 4064 points and Kyle Busch with 4063. Drivers on the bubble include Chase Elliott, Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr and Joey Logano.

Four drivers will be eliminated from the Playoffs on October 31, after the race at Martinsville Speedway.

Well, Kyle Larson won again and it's tough to doubt him at all at this point. Larson has been on one heck of a run, and we don't think it will stop.

Now we will ride them for a second straight week against another NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are 8-2 on the season, yet are only around a field goal favorite. I still do not trust Sam Donald to win consistently over the course of a 17 game regular season. Minnesota is not as good as their 8-2 record would indicate and playing outdoors in Chicago on Sunday will cause issues for them on both sides of the ball. Chicago has been hit or miss this season, but they will be up to play another divisional rival and we expect them to take this down to the wire as well.
