We've finally made it to the NASCAR Playoffs! This race will be held in Darlington and marks the start of a "new" season where drivers will be fighting for a championship. Over the course of the next 10 races, a champion will be crowned. During this process, there will be four rounds consisting of three races in each round. The race on Sunday is the first race of the Round of 16. In this round, drivers will be looking to have enough points at the end to move forward or win a race. If a driver has less points and no wins, they have less of a chance of moving on.

The race on Sunday consists of 367 laps. There are three stages in this one with the first stage having 115 laps. Stage 2 is another 115 laps, with the final stage having 107 laps.

Coke Zero Sugar 400 Results

Stage 1 of the Coke Zero Sugar 400 started with Kyle Larson being sent to the back of the line. William Byron would take his spot at the front. This stage would be clean going into the competition caution. Chase Elliott ended up taking the first stage after a totally clean stage.

After taking a short break, the drivers were back at it for Stage 2, and we finally got our first cause caution. Corey Lajoie would start a log jam that would send Alex Bowman and Aric Almirola into spinouts. Both drivers got minor damage in the spinouts but would be able to continue. Joey Logano ended up taking the lead and winning the second stage.

Stage 3 would start green. The Fords would all try to play a little strategy and pit with about 38 laps to go. In a strange turn of events, all of the Rick Ware Racing cars wrecked with each other in the process of their pit cycle. After this pit stop, the Fords would get out ahead of the Chevys and Toyotas. Chase Elliott took the lead but ended up involved in a crash after he mistimed a block on Matt DiBenedetto. This wreck would take out many drivers and cause some chaos. Tyler Reddick (who was in the points battle) would be wrecked by Martin Truex Jr. At this point, the race would be red flagged to save the remaining laps. The final lap would see Ryan Blaney holding off the rest of the field. Kevin Harvick and Daniel Suarez were both battling for the lead when Kurt Busch caused them to get in an accident. This would mean the race would end under caution. Blaney would take the checkered flag. Tyler Reddick would grab the final playoff spot, edging out Austin Dillon.

NASCAR Cup Standings

Going into the NASCAR Playoffs, Kyle Larson leads the field in points over Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and William Byron. Chase Elliott would fill out the top 5 for the upcoming playoff run. On the other end of the spectrum sits Tyler Reddick who edged out Austin Dillon for the final spot.

We like Kyle Larson to start off the playoff season like he ended the regular season and that is on a roll. While he didn't win the last race, Larson has been great all year and we think he'll get it done on Sunday.
