We'll be under the lights for the 2021 Bass Pro Shops Night Race. In regard to the opening round, this is the second to last race. Racing in Bristol under the lights is one of the more fun experiences in NASCAR and add that we're talking playoffs and you've got a recipe for excitement. After this week, only 12 drivers will be advancing to the next round. In addition to Bristol just being a great place to race, the points gap is tight. Between Kevin Harvick (6th) and Tyler Reddick (14th), only 30 points separate them. Four drivers won't be moving on, so the pressure will be on.

Heading into the final NASCAR Cup Series playoffs Round of 16 race, Joe Gibbs Racing is feeling pretty comfortable. Denny Hamlin, who just got the win in Darlington, led for most of the race on Saturday and was then passed by Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr in the final stage. These two drivers went back and forth down the final stretch and looked like it was going to be a close finish until a pit road speeding penalty costed Busch his opportunity for the win.

Denny Hamlin was also in the running and took a shot at Truex in the latter parts of this race, but Truex was able to battle and hold him off for the win a clinched spot in the Round of 12.

Based on his performance in the first two stages, Kyle Larson clinched his spot in the next round of the playoffs. On the night, Larson finished the night in the 6th spot. Kurt Busch got a flat tire just 40 laps into the race caused him to crash. This was a big blow for Chip Ganassi Racing as Busch dropped out the top 12 and put him in a position where he must perform this weekend to move on to the next round.

Two of the three Round 1 races have been run and now the pressure is on for drivers trying to last. Regular season champion Kyle Larson is guaranteed to advance based on points. Martin Truex Jr. will also be moving on because of his win in Richmond and because of his Darlington victory, Denny Hamlin will be advancing.

Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin are all at the top of the list as favorites for the upcoming race. That said, there are a lot of other drivers that have great odds to win as well. This should tell you that it could be a tight race, and someone might surprise when all is said and done.

It's hard to pick against Kyle Busch in this race. He has three top-2 finishes in his last four starts when racing on concrete. This includes a 2nd place finish in each of the last two races at Bristol. He also finished runner-up in the All-Star Race last year as well. Because of these reasons, we're going to go with Busch in this one.
