The push is on as we move to the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Cup Series championship this weekend. The race this weekend will play a big factor in determining who will be the drivers to move on to the next round. It will take place at Texas Motor Speedway at 2:00 PM and it should be a good one.

This is a one groove track that runs 1.5 miles. Restarts will be essential in this race as passing is extremely difficult. If we can take anything from the race here last season, it's that tire fall off will not play a big role, so we might be looking at gas-only or two tire pits stops during this race at some point.

With his seventh win of the season, Kyle Larson was able to get the win while battling issues with his battery. While the team had many obstacles to overcome, they were able to keep getting Larson back out onto the track to get in front. That being said, his teammate William Byron had the best car of the day. So much so that it looked like he was going to take the checkered flag. That was up until he made contact with Tyler Reddick. Byron was able to make a run in the end, but it was too little, too late and Larson won this one.

This race had plenty of battles from the front and the drivers going back and forth included Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, William Byron and Kyle Busch. While that was exciting enough, many were paying attention to the ongoing feud between Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick. These two drivers have had beef since Bristol, and Harvick decided it was time to cash in on his revenge. While going through turn 8 on lap 56, Harvick turned Elliott into a wall when he jumped on the throttle and put the #9 in serious jeopardy of not finishing the race. However, Elliott's pit crew worked miracles and were able to get him back out on the track. It looked as if Elliott was going to hobble his way through the rest of this race but caught a break when his bumper fell off and there was a debris caution. Elliott shot himself out of a canon at this point and made it all the way into the top 20 and right behind Harvick. Then Harvick missed Turn 1, smashed into a wall and ended his day.

NASCAR Cup Standings

Christopher Bell, William Byron, Alex Bowman and Kevin Harvick were all eliminated from the NASCAR Playoffs this last weekend and now we move to the round of 8. This includes Texas Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway and Martinsville. The Championship 4 will then take place at Phoenix Raceway on November 7.

Kyle Larson leads everyone into the Round of 8. Also competing in this round include Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski.

While Kyle Larson won the All-Star race here, we like Kyle Busch in this one. He has finished in the top-10 on four straight occasions. Five of his last six starts here were in the top-10 and a pair of top-5 finishes.
