NASCAR will be making its yearly stop for the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. This is a tri-oval cookie cutter track that stretches 1.333 miles with a concrete surface. To make up for the 400-mile advertised distance, drivers will race for 300 laps. There will be three stages in this race with the first stage going for 90 laps, the second stage is 95 laps, and the final stage will stretch 115 laps.

There will be single car qualifying and practice throughout the weekend and it will be much need as most of the drivers have little to no experience driving on this track. This is a welcomed and new experience for the season as it will be the first time the predetermined formula by NASCAR won’t be used to determine the starting lineup.

NASCAR All-Star Race Recap:

The NASCAR All-Star Race was made up of drivers that won points paying race in either 2020 or 2021. It also included drivers who advanced from the All-Star Open, fulltime drivers that have won a championship and fulltime drivers who have won the All-Star Race before.

There were five stages in this race, and they were all a lot of fun. Stage 1 was taken by none other than Kyle Larson. Stage 2 was taken by Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney while Stage 3 was won by Alex Bowman. Stage 4’s winner was another driver from Hendrick Motorsports in William Byron and Stage 5 was taken by Chase Elliott.

With his second NASCAR All-Star Race win in three season, Kyle Larson took home the million-dollar paycheck last weekend. He was able to hold of Brad Keselowski by a mere .206 seconds. Chase Elliott came in third place and his Penske teammates Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney followed.

The final ten laps of this race were exciting with Ryan Blaney, who restarted in the second row when the segment began, made a big move which put him up in the battle with Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson.

Updated NASCAR Playoff Standings

Kyle Larson is coming into this weekends race in second place in the Cup Series standings. He’s got 11 top-10 finishes this season and nine of those are top-5 finishes. However, when it comes to drivers that have made the playoffs, Larson sits in first place. Overall, Denny Hamlin sits in first place with 664 points, however, he is still looking for his first win of the season to earn his spot in the playoffs. That said, he should be fine when it comes down to it because of his dominant points lead. Rounding out the top 5 in points include Chase Elliott with 591 points, William Byron with 564 and Joey Logano with 548 points.

With the way he’s been racing, it’s no surprise that Kyle Larson is the favorite in this race. Chase Elliott is another racer to watch out for at +700. He has 10 top-10 finishes this season and 8 top-5 finishes. He’s done very well at Kansas Speedway and that track compares favorably to the one in Nashville. All that being said, if you’re looking for a longshot in this one, you might consider going with Brad Keselowski. He’s made 10 Xfinity starts at Nashville Superspeedway and seven top-10 finishes, seven top-5 finishes and 2 wins.
