Through the strange times we currently sit in, we've finally made it to the end of the road. The season finale for 2020 comes down to this final race. One of four drivers will be taking home the championship and the Bill France Cup this Sunday. This is the first time the finale has been held at Phoenix Raceway and it should be a very exciting race.

The four drivers that are in the running are Chase Elliott, who races for Hendrick Motorsports, Denny Hamlin who races for Joe Gibbs Racing and the duo from Team Penske in Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski. Between these four drivers, they have taken home the checkered flag 18 times out of 35 races this season. Both Logano and Keselowski have previously taken home the championship in 2018 and 2012 respectively. Elliott and Hamlin will be looking for their first Cup title.

Xfinity 500 Results

Chase Elliott was able to secure his first Championship 4 appearance with his win at Martinsville and he did it convincingly by finishing the race 6.577 seconds ahead of second place finisher Ryan Blaney.

While Elliott's victory was impressive, Kevin Harvick's day was equally shocking. Harvick needed to pass Kyle Busch on the last lap to secure his spot in the Championship 4. However, the cars made contact which put Harvick in the 17th spot by the time he crossed the finish line. It was a tough day for Harvick who had a tire go down early in the race which caused him to have to green flag pit. He was playing catch up the rest of the race. Harvick's finish put him eight points short of advancing to the next round. It was a solid season for Harvick so this ending was a tough pill to swallow for the Stewart-Haas race team.

2020 Cup Series Standings Update

We are down to the final four racers in the Cup Series for NASCAR. It's been a wild ride but we finally gotten here. Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin will be battling for the Cup.

Elliott has the chance to do what his father did and win a championship. If he is able to pull this out, the Elliott family will join the likes of the Pettys and the Jarretts as just the third ever father/son combo to Take the NASCAR Cup Series. Elliott is a talented driver who has 10 wins, 58 top fives and 95 top ten finishes since he's been running fulltime.

Denny Hamlin started racing fulltime in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2006 and has been kicking butt ever since. He's competed in 15 fulltime seasons since 2006 and he qualified for the Cup Series Playoffs in 14 of those seasons. This will be his third time making the Championship 4 so he's hoping that third time is a charm.

Brad Keselowski has four NASCAR Cup Series wins this season and six top five finishes. In his career, the No. 2 Team Penske Ford has finished in the top ten at Phoenix Raceway 10 times. He'll be in some elite company if he can win his second title and become just the third active driver with more than one title.

Finally we have Joey Logano who has two NASCAR Cup Series race wins at this track. If Logano can win the championship this weekend, he'll be just the 11th driver to win multiple titles in three seasons. He would also be just the 17th driver to win multiple NASCAR Cup Series championships.

This is a tough week for Kevin Harvick who just barely missed out on the Championship 4. That said, he's been dubbed the "king of the desert" and has 10 top-2 finishes in 17 tries in Phoenix. He's only finished worse than sixth just two times in those 17 starts.

Now we will ride them for a second straight week against another NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are 8-2 on the season, yet are only around a field goal favorite. I still do not trust Sam Donald to win consistently over the course of a 17 game regular season. Minnesota is not as good as their 8-2 record would indicate and playing outdoors in Chicago on Sunday will cause issues for them on both sides of the ball. Chicago has been hit or miss this season, but they will be up to play another divisional rival and we expect them to take this down to the wire as well.
