Kentucky Speedway is set to host it's 10th ever NASCAR Cup Series event on Sunday in the Quaker State 400. Sparta, Kentucky is the location of the tri-oval track that spans 1.5 miles long. Turns 1 & 2 feature 17 degrees of turns while turns 3 & 4 are 14 degrees. The track opened in 2000, so it's one of the more mondern tracks on the circuit today. Brad Keselowski has 3 wins in Sparta while Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch have 2 apiece.

Kevin Harvick won an exciting finish in Indianapolis after an overtime restart to continue his hot streak and great overall season. Harvick won for the 4th time this season, which is tied with Denny Hamlin for the most on the circuit this season. Hamlin was battling for the lead for most of the race, but wrecked with only 7 laps to go and finished 28th after a great race. Harvick led for 68 laps overall, far outpacing the competition. Chase Elliot, who finished 11th, led the 2nd most laps with 26. Matt Kenseth finished 2nd in Indy and led for 12 laps. Kenseth started in the 21st position, so he made up quite a bit of ground on the day. Aric Almirola finished 3rd with Brad Keselowski and Cole Custer rounding out the Top 5. Harvick was able to collect another 56 points toward the Cup Series Championship, which helped him lengthen his lead overall. Jimmie Johnson missed the race due to testing positive for Covid-19, as he and his wife have unfortunately contracted the virus. Bubba Wallace, who has been in the news a lot lately, also had a good day on the track in Indy. He finished 9th after starting 17th and it was his 3rd Top 10 finish of the season. There were 9 cars that didn't finish the race due to crashes. Those included Truex Jr. and Hamlin, who both hurt their chances to win the NASCAR Cup Series Championship this year.

2020 Cup Series Standings Update

Kevin Harvick continues to lead the field after winning in Indianapolis. He now has accumulated 637 points to stretch his lead over Chase Elliot by 85 points. Harvick has been incredible this year, collecting 4 wins while finishing in the Top 10 in 13 of the 16 races he's competed in. Harvick now also has 9 finishes in the Top 5. He's led for 640 laps this season, which is by far the most on the circuit. Joey Logano is 2nd in laps led with 538. Elliot has finished 9 times in the Top 10 while Brad Keselowski, who is now 3rd in the standings, has 11 finishes in the Top 10. Keselowski is only 3 points behind Elliot but 88 points behind the leader Harvick. Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin round out the Top 5 after the event in Indy. Blaney only has 1 win, but he's finished in the Top 5 on 7 occasions. Hamlin, meanwhile, has 4 wins and 9 Top 5 finishes. Harvick has by far the best average finish of any driver, finishing 6.9 on average. Keselowski also has an average finish in the Top 10 with 9.4. Those are the only 2 drivers that hold that distinction.

Who will win this event at Kentucky? I've bet against Harvick the last few races and he's won twice, so I won't make the same mistake again. I think Harvick (+600) takes home the checkered flag again and continues his amazing 2020 run.
