The Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 on Wednesday is being held at Martinsville Speedway. It will be the first night race at the track in Cup Series history. The racetrack is only .5 mile long and is unique because it has concrete turns but asphalt straightaways. It's the shortest track on the circuit and has been around since 1947.

Kevin Harvick was able to widen his Cup Series lead with a win at the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500. Harvick now leads with 421 total points, which is 48 points ahead of Joey Logano. Harvick now has 2 wins this year to go with 9 Top 10 finishes in only 10 races. Harvick has an average finish of 5.5 this season with the next closest being Brad Keselowski (average finish of 9.4). Logano sits in 2nd place and is 8 points of ahead of Chase Elliot. Logano has 2 wins this year along with 5 Top 10 finishes, but he just hasn't been able to keep up with the great season Harvick is putting together. Elliot has 6 Top 10 finishes this year to go along with 1 win and he's led the 2nd most laps behind Harvick. Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr. round out the Top 5 in the Cup Series standings. Keselowski also has 2 wins under his belt this year and he's finished in the Top 10 on 7 occasions.

Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 Results

Kevin Harvick led 151 laps en route to his victory in Atlanta. He was able to get an additional 51 points toward the Cup Series standings, and he's looking like he's going to be really tough to beat for the Championship. Harvick started 9th but was able to move up quickly to win for the 3rd time in his career at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It was also his 51st overall career win on the circuit. Kyle Busch finished 2nd followed by Martin Truex Jr. Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin rounded out the Top 5. Busch only led 7 laps but was able to get 52 points toward the Cup Series standings. Truex was able to get 54 points after leading for 65 laps. Truex started in 11th while Busch started in 4th position. Jimmie Johnson kept his winless streak alive, but he did finish 7th after starting 15th. Johnson is definitely being pretty consistent, but he hasn't driven a flawless race in a long time. Elliot, Logano, and Keselowski rounded out the Top 10 to keep their Championship hopes alive for the 2020 season. The race took 3 hours 30 minutes and there were 5 caution flags that took up 24 laps. Harvick is going to be tough to catch, but if one of those 3 drivers hits a hot streak it could get interesting.

Who will win this event at Martinsville? Kyle Busch is good on short tracks but Truex Jr. is due for a win this year. Even though I was tempted to pick Keselowski at +600, I think I'm going to go with Truex Jr. to win on Wednesday.
