Camping World RV Sales 301 Picks, Odds and Predictions

Doc's Picks for New Hampshire
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to Loudon, New Hampshire, this week for the Camping World RV Sales 301.
New Hampshire is a one-mile oval race track that races like a short track. It is comparable to Martinsville because both race tracks have 12 degrees of banking in the corners. The lack of banking and sizeable straightaways will make passing difficult.
Last year, Brad Keselowski won the pole but only led 9 laps. The middle of the race was dominated by the Busch brothers. Tony Stewart would've won the race but he ran out of fuel with only one lap left in the race. Brian Vickers took the lead and ended up in victory lane. There have been 12 different winners in the past 12 races at New Hampshire
The race on Sunday will be one of the shortest races of the season. Teams with a savvy crew chief and a speedy pit crew will have a huge advantage at New Hampshire. (Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon)
Here are my picks for New Hampshire.
Pick: Take Jimmie Johnson +500
He is a three-time winner at New Hampshire, and his 9.2 average finish at the track is the second best among active drivers. In 24 starts at NHMS, Johnson has 17 Top 10s, including 12 in his last 14 starts at the track. Meanwhile, he has finished seventh or better in his last four starts at the track. The 48 has also led 296 laps on similar tracks this year. Johnson is a near lock to finish top five this weekend at Loudon.
Don't Overlook: Denny Hamlin +1000
Hamlin leads all active drivers with a 9.0 average finish at New Hampshire, and in 16 starts at the track, he only has two finishes outside the Top 15. Hamlin also has two wins at NHMS, and he has finished second on three other occasions. He has 10 Top 10s at the track overall. He would my favorite to win it but he has struggled at this type of track this year.
Stay Away: Martin Truex Jr. +6600
Truex has finished eight of his last 10 starts at New Hampshire outside the top 10. There are no signs that he will finish up front this week. Expect Truex to have another lackluster performance at New Hampshire.
