The New York Mets and the New York Yankees will wrap up the back-end of a four-game home-and-home Subway Series this Thursday night at Yankee Stadium. This final New York City showdown is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. (ET), and it will be broadcast nationally on the MLB Network.
The Mets struck first blood against their city rivals with back-to-back 2-1 victories on Monday and Tuesday night at Citi Field. They are now 4-6 in their last 10 games heading into Wednesday night’s contest, and the total has stayed “under” in seven of their last nine games.
The Yankees have now lost their last three games to fall to 31-20 on the year and a game back of Boston for the lead in the AL East. They return home this Wednesday night where they have gone 15-9 this season. The total has stayed under in three of their last four games.
Mets at Yankees Betting Storylines
The Mets have to be thrilled with the outcome of the first two games of this interleague rivalry, especially with Tuesday night’s walk-off victory. Lucas Duda’s ninth inning single off of Mariano Rivera to drive home David Wright gave them the 2-1 win as -126 home favorites. The Mets are still mired near the bottom of the NL East with an overall record of 20-29, and they will now have to play the final two games of this Subway Series on the road where the Mets have gone 8-12 this year.
Dillon Gee has been named the Mets starter for the final game of this series. The right-hander has been struggling as of late and has failed to get past the fifth inning in his last five starts. Overall, he is just 2-6 this season in 10 previous outings with an ERA of 6.34. Gee has given up a combined 13 earned runs in his last three starts alone. Against the Yankees, he is 0-4 with a 4.50 ERA.
The Yankees had been cruising along with a 5- 2 record in their previous seven games before a sudden scoring drought led to the current three-game slide. They have now posted a total of five runs in their last three games after averaging well over four runs a game this year. When the bats are clicking, it has been players like Robinson Cano and Lyle Overbay leading the way. Cano leads the team with 34 RBI and 13 home runs with Overbay banging in another 29 RBI. Vernon Wells has also been a force with 24 RBI and 10 home runs.
Vidal Nuno will be making his third Major League career start for the Yankees on Thursday night. The left-hander looked rock-solid this past Saturday against Tampa Bay by holding the Rays to two earned runs on five hits through six full innings of work. He comes in with an ERA of 1.93 and a 1.21 WHIP through a total of 14 innings pitched this season.

Mets at Yankees Picks and Betting Predictions
Give all the credit in the world to the Mets’ pitching staff for shutting the Yankees down twice at Citi Field, but in the friendly confines of Yankee Stadium that scoring drought is not going to last. Bank on the Yankees having the last word in this edition of the Subway Series with a convincing victory on Thursday night.
