2014 Season Win Total Picks NCAA Football: 'Over'

It's been a rough ride down for West Virginia, who is a long way removed from the Rich Rodriguez heyday. Dana Holgersen has see his win total decline every year he's been in Morgantown and this season might be his last shot to win over the natives.

WVU has 13 starters back this year after entering last season with just eight. It is the fourth year of Holgersen's system and this roster is comprised almost entirely of his recruits.

Things certainly won't come easy for the Mountaineers. They face Alabama and Oklahoma in a 22-day span at the start of the year. Fortunately the Alabama game is at a neutral site and WVU will host Oklahoma.

I can see WVU being pretty good at home this year. But I don't see a lot of road wins on the docket. This is still a mediocre team. But Holgersen is desperate and West Virginia wasn't as bad as its 4-8 record suggests this season. WVU has a lot of scores to settle and I think they will make it to a bowl game this year. I would play 'over'.
