I really hope that San Jose State fans enjoyed that incredible 11-2 season in 2012. Because it is going to be a long time before the Spartans are threatening to win double-digit games again.

The Spartans tumbled to just 6-6 last season and could be even worse off in Year 2 of the Ron Caragher Era. Stud quarterback David Fales has moved on to the NFL and there is no clear replacement for his mantle. SJSU also lost its leading receiver and three of its top five tacklers.

There is no way that San Jose will get to .500 again this year. They can beat North Dakota in the opener and they could beat UNLV on homecoming on Oct. 4. But five of their final seven games come on the road, where this team is a woeful 12-45 straight up if you discount that dream 2012 season.

I'm playing the Spartans 'under' and I expect their season win total to be released closer to 3.5 or 4.0.
