The Tigers were one of the most underrated teams in the country last season, as indicated by their outstanding 11-3 record against the spread. Missouri went 12-2 straight up and their losses were in tight games against South Carolina and Auburn in the SEC Title Game (that game was closer than the final suggests).
That was last year. This year? Not so much.
Missouri has just nine total starters back and lost a bunch of talented veterans to the NFL and graduation. They will also have a big target on their backs after winning the SEC East, beating teams like Georgia and Florida along the way.
Missouri was at the right place at the right time with its schedule last year. And this season their slate features conference opponents that went just 24-40 in league playin 2013. Mizzou avoids all the big guns from the West as well, so things are in place for another decent campaign.
But they aren't going to reach nine wins this year. Four losses would keep them 'under'. And between Central Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, A&M and Arkansas I think that there are four L's waiting for this year's team. Especially because the USC, Florida and A&M games are all on the road and Georgia has major revenge.
I think that if the books lower this number to 7.5 it may be worth looking 'over'. But at this current number I would have to suggest going 'under'.
