The Tigers are turning the page after the departure o dynamic duo of Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins. That pair helped the Tigers to a 32-8 mark over the past three seasons and now Dabo Sweeney will try to keep this program among the elite in the nation. It won't be easy, especially with a brutal schedule, and this could be a tough transition season for the Tigers.
Senior quarterback Cole Stoudt will try to make the most of his one and only season under center. The Tigers were No. 8 in scoring, No. 9 in passing, and No. 10 in total offense last year. They won't be in that stratosphere again this season. But they have a stacked front seven on defense and can improve on last year's Top 25 rankings.
But Clemson's schedule is one of the toughest in the nation. They open up in Athens against revenge-minded Georgia. They also have to travel to Florida State before September ends. Tough games against North Carolina, Louisville, and at Georgia Tech also dot the schedule. As does the season finale against South Carolina, whom the Tigers haven't beaten in five years.
I don't think Clemson will beat either Georgia or Florida State. That means that if they lose just one more games they will fail to top this number. While they do get most of their toughest ACC games in Death Valley, I also think that this Clemson team is weaker than the previous three years. This team has only won 10 or more games three times in the last 23 years. I don't think they reach that total this year. Play 'under'.
