On Saturday afternoon, the Wofford Terriers will have a very tough opening matchup when they take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on the road.
In 2013, Wofford ended up right in the middle of the Southern Conference standings by finishing 4-4 in the conference and 5-6 overall. Unfortunately for them, they were unable to beat any of the teams that ended up at the top of the conference standings.
The Terriers will have six offensive players and seven defensive players returning this season. Junior quarterback Michael Weimer will be the team's starter once again in 2014, and Wofford fans will be hoping that the passing attack can do a bit more than throw for 939 yards like they did last year. Will Gay, who rushed for 498 yards last season, will get his first chance to be the team's number one running back.
Georgia Tech were expected to be a fringe top 25 team in 2013, but they finished with just a 7-6 record overall and a 5-3 record in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets finished the year with a 25-17 loss to Ole Miss in the Music City Bowl.
Quarterback Justin Thomas, who threw just 17 passes last year as a sophomore, will get his chance to lead the Yellow Jackets in 2014. He is considered to be an above-average throwing quarterback with a ton of speed.
