On Friday afternoon, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (6-5) and their solid passing attack will take on the stingy defense of the #19 Marshall Thundering Herd (11-0). Marshall and Western Kentucky are currently first and third in the Conference USA East standings, respectively.

Last weekend, Western Kentucky picked up their third win in a row when they blew out UTSA 45-7 on their home field. They had 336 passing yards in that game while holding UTSA to just 234 total yards.

The Hilltoppers are third in the country in passing right now with over 350 passing yards per game. They have one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the country in Brandon Doughty, who has thrown for 3,853 yards this season with 36 touchdown passes and just eight interceptions.

Marshall almost had their undefeated streak come to an end last weekend, but they found a way to pull off a 23-18 road win over UAB. Their offense was able to gain 515 yards in that win, including 231 yards on the ground.

The Thundering Herd are fourth in the country in scoring with 449. points per game, and they are sixth in points against by only giving up 16.5 points per game. Devon Johnson has been one of the best running backs in the nation this year by gaining 1,573 yards on the ground with 16 touchdowns. Senior quarterback Rakeem Cato has thrown for 2,897 yards with 28 touchdowns and only eight interceptions.
