The Western Carolina Catamounts (7-4) will face their toughest foe on Saturday when they take on the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide (9-1). The Catamounts are currently second in the Southern conference, while Alabama is first in the SEC West.

Western Carolina got out to a big lead in the first half of their game against VMI last Saturday and came away with a 42-27 home win. They gained 640 total yards in that game, including 301 yards on the ground.

Through 11 games, the Catamounts have been able to score 28.4 points per game against their opponents. Running back Darius Ramsey has averaged 5.2 yards per carry this season and has 780 yards with six scores. Quarterback Troy Mitchell has thrown for 2,320 yards with 18 touchdowns so far this year.

Last Saturday, Alabama won their biggest game of the season by defeating top-ranked Mississippi State 25-20 at home. They were outgained 428-335 in that win, but they were also able to force three big turnovers.

The Crimson Tide currently have the second-best defense in the country by only giving up 14.5 points per game. Quarterback Blake Sims has had a great second half to the season and now has 2,454 passing yards with 18 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Wide receiver Amari Cooper has been one of the best players in the country by catching 87 passes for 1,303 yards and 11 touchdowns.
