The top passing attack of the Washington State Cougars (2-4) will go on the road to face the top-ranked defense of the #25 Stanford Cardinal (3-2) on Friday night.

Washington State put up a staggering 812 yards of offense against California last Saturday, but they still ended up losing 60-59. They had a team-record 734 passing yards in that game, but their defense ended up giving up 589 yards.

Washington State has been able to pass for 523 yards per game this season and they are scoring 38 points per game. The Cougars may be struggling a bit this season, but quarterback Connor Halliday has been fantastic and he currently leads the country in passing yards (3,052) and passing touchdowns (26). Wide receiver Vince Mayle has 51 catches through six games for 703 yards and six touchdowns.

Stanford gave up a late touchdown in their game against Notre Dame last weekend and ended up losing 17-14 on the road. They only had 205 total yards in that loss, which included just 47 rushing yards.

The Cardinal's defense has only given up 8.6 points per game, but their rushing game has only been able to put up 141.8 yards per game. Quarterback Kevin Hogan has thrown for 1,041 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions this season, and he also leads the team in rushing touchdowns with three.
