On Saturday, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (2-7) will try to get their first ACC win of the season when they face the North Carolina State Wolfpack (5-5). The Demon Deacons were able to beat the Wolfpack 28-13 at home last season.

Last Thursday, Wake Forest lost their fifth straight game when they were beaten 34-20 by Clemson on their home field. They only finished with 119 total yards in that game, which included just seven yards on the ground.

The Demon Deacons are currently the worst rushing team in the nation with just 31.4 rushing yards per game. Wide receiver E.J. Scott has caught 37 passes this season for 384 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback John Wolford has struggled by throwing for just 1,465 yards with nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

NC State gave up 35 points in the first half of their game against Georgia Tech last weekend and ended up losing 56-23. They turned the ball over three times in that game and their defense gave up 549 yards.

The Wolfpack have scored 28.1 points per game, but they have also given up 30.4 points per game to their opponents. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett has had a good season so far by throwing for 2,195 yards with 18 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Running back Shadrach Thornton has averaged 5.2 yards per carry and has 540 yards with seven touchdowns.
