On Saturday afternoon, the UTSA Roadrunners (2-6) will try to end their two-game losing streak when they face the Rice Owls (5-3). Rice was able to beat the Roadrunners 27-21 on the road last season.

UTSA couldn't get their offense going in their game against UTEP two weeks ago and they ended up being shut out 34-0 at home. They finished that game with just 70 total yards and they turned the ball over twice.

Through eight games, the Roadrunners have scored just 18.9 points per game while giving up 26.5 points per game. Running back Jarveon Williams has averaged 4.9 yards per carry this season and has 325 yards with three touchdowns. Quarterback Tucker Carter has thrown for 749 yards with two touchdowns and five interceptions.

Last weekend, Rice won their fifth game in a row when they beat FIU 31-17 on the road. They had 399 total yards in that game while holding FIU to just 261 yards. They also took good care of the ball and didn't cough it up in the win.

The Owls have been able to rush for 195.5 yards per game and they are scoring 31.4 points per game. Their best player has been quarterback Driphus Jackson, who has 1,648 passing yards on the season with 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Running back Jowan Davis has rushed for 627 yards with five scores.
