The Tulsa Golden Hurricane (2-7) will try to start their first winning streak on Friday night when they go up against the UCF Knights (5-3). The Knights and the Golden Hurricane are currently in second and seventh place in the American Conference, respectively.

Last weekend, Tulsa was finally able to pick up their second win of the season when they beat SMU 38-28 at home. They had 501 yards of offense in that win and they were 8-for-14 on their third down opportunities.

Through nine games, the Golden Hurricane have given up 39.2 points per game, which is one of the worst scoring rates in the country. Their top threat has been wide receiver Keevan Lucas, who has 79 receptions on the year for 1,017 yards and 10 touchdowns. Running back Zack Langer has rushed for 646 yards in nine games with three touchdowns.

UCF had their five-game winning streak come to an end two weeks ago when they were beaten 37-29 by Connecticut on the road. They did have 429 yards in that loss, but they also turned the ball over four times.

The Knights have relied heavily on their defense this season, which has only given up 21.4 points per game in eight games. Running back William Stanback has only averaged 3.7 yards per carry this year, but he has scored eight touchdowns. Quarterback Justin Holman has thrown for 1,718 yards this season with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
