On Saturday night, the Texas Tech Red Raiders (2-2) will have a hard time snapping their two-game losing streak when they face the #23 Kansas State Wildcats (3-1). Last year, the Wildcats beat the Red Raiders 49-26 on the road.
Last Thursday, Texas Tech played pretty well against Oklahoma State, but turnovers were their downfall as they lost 45-35. The Red Raiders had 512 total yards in the loss, but they also gave up 528 yards and turned the ball over three times.
The Red Raiders are currently 11th in the country in passing with 344 yards per game, but their defense has given up 38.8 points per game. Quarterback Davis Webb has passed for 1,356 yards this season with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. Senior wide receiver Bradley Marquez has caught 26 passes for 357 yards and six touchdowns this year.
Kansas State got back on the winning track last Saturday by picking up a dominant 58-28 win over UTEP at home. The Wildcats had 451 yards of offense in the win and their defense was able to hold UTEP to just 59 rushing yards.
The Wildcats have been able to score 39.8 points per game this season, which ranks them 27th in the country right now. Sophomore running back Charles Jones has averaged 5.2 yards per carry this year and has 228 yards with eight touchdowns.
