The Texas State Bobcats (4-4) will go on the road on Saturday afternoon to take on the New Mexico State Aggies (2-6), who have lost six games in a row. The Bobcats are in fourth place in the Sun Belt while the Aggies currently sit in eighth.
Texas State won for the third time in their last four games over the weekend when they beat UL Monroe 22-18 on the road. They had 229 rushing yards in that game and they didn't commit a turnover.
The Bobcats are rushing for 231.7 yards per game while scoring 32.1 points per game. Quarterback Tyler Jones has thrown for 1,466 yards with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions, and he has also rushed for 300 yards and six more touchdowns. Running back Robert Lowe has averaged 5.7 yards per carry this season and has 529 yards with four touchdowns.
New Mexico State's defense had no answer for Idaho’s offense last Saturday when they were beaten 29-17 on the road. They gave up 536 yards in that game and their offense ended up turning the ball over four times.
The Aggies have one of the worst defenses in the country after giving up 36.3 points per game in their first eight games of the season. Their best offensive player has been wide receiver Teldrick Morgan, who has caught 53 passes for 675 yards and five touchdowns. Freshman running back Larry Rose III has gained 530 yards on the ground and has five scores.
