On December 29th, the Texas Longhorns will face the Arkansas Razorbacks in the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The Texas Longhorns will bring a 6 - 6 record to Houston and that record was a triumph considering the season that the Longhorns had.  Injuries hurt the offense and despite a pretty good defensive unit, Texas was on the losing side of the scoreboard in four of their 1st six games of the season. The Longhorns finished the year by winning three of their final four games with the loss coming in the finale against top ranked TCU.   A win against Arkansas will put the Longhorns above .500 and give them some momentum going into next season.  When next season comes, that momentum will give them a better chance at a better start than they had this year.

The Arkansas Razorbacks had a 6 – 6 season as well and that record was mainly because they had so many top ranked teams on the schedule.  Arkansas faced seven ranked opponents and they lost to five of them.  On the bright side, the two wins (over LSU and Ole Miss) were back to back shutout victories.  Arkansas finished the year with a loss to Missouri but they still were able to advance to a bowl game for the 1st time since 2011.  If the Razorbacks want to see a bowl game next season as well, a win over Texas will help them get there.
