The South Carolina Gamecocks (6-5) will try to end their regular season on a three-game winning streak when they take on the stingy defense of the #23 Clemson Tigers (8-3) on Saturday afternoon. Last season, the Gamecocks were able to upset the Tigers 31-17 at home.

South Carolina held South Alabama to just four field goals in their game last weekend and ended up easily beating the, 37-12 at home. The Gamecocks had 454 total yards in that victory, including 204 yards on the ground.

The Gamecocks currently have the 32nd-ranked scoring offense in the nation by averaging 34.8 points per game. Quarterback Dylan Thompson has had a very good year, throwing for 3,031 yards with 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Wide receiver Pharoh Cooper has caught 58 of Thompson's passes for 921 yards and eight scores.

Clemson got back on the winning track last Saturday by shutting out Georgia State 28-0 at home. Their defense was outstanding in that game, holding Georgia State to just 155 total yards and forcing four turnovers.

Through 11 games, the Tigers have had one of the best defensive units in the country by only allowing opponents to score 17.6 points per game against them. Their best player on the offensive side of the ball has been wider receiver Mike Williams, who has caught 45 passes for 859 yards and five touchdowns.
