On Saturday afternoon, the San Jose State Spartans (3-8) will be going for their fifth win in a row when they face the San Diego State Aztecs (6-5). During the 2013 season, the Aztecs defeated the Spartans 34-30 in San Jose.

San Jose State could only get into the end zone once in their game against Utah State last weekend, losing 41-7 on the road. They were just 4-for-17 on their third down chances and only finished the game with 61 passing yards.

Through 11 games, the Spartans have one of the worst scoring offenses in the nation by averaging just 20.5 points per game. Their best offensive weapon has been wide receiver Tyler Winston, who has caught 72 passes for 655 yards and a team-high five touchdowns. Quarterback Joe Gray has throwing for 2,215 yards this season with 10 touchdown passes and nine interceptions.

Last weekend, San Diego State held Air Force scoreless in the second half and ended up rolling to a 30-14 home victory. Their offense had a total of 502 yards in that win, including 326 yards through the air.

The Aztecs haven't had the easiest time scoring points this year, but they are in the top 30 in points against by only giving up 21.3 points per game. Sophomore running back Donnel Pumphrey has had a great season by averaging 6.4 yards per carry for 1,494 yards and 16 touchdowns.
