On Saturday afternoon, the Big Sky's Sacramento State Hornets will look to move to 2-0 for the first time in over 10 years when they take on the California Golden Bears from the Pac 12.

Sacramento State played their first game of the year against Incarnate Word on the road last Saturday and came away with a 49-13 win. The Hornets were able to hold Incarnate Word to just 287 total yards in the game and they also forced them into two turnovers.

Sacramento State quarterback Garrett Safron had a very solid game by completing 17 of his 25 passes for 251 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. Wide receiver Nnamdi Agude had six catches in the win for 11 yards and two touchdowns. Linebacker Darnell Sankey had 10 tackles and returned an interception 59 yards for a touchdown.

California played in a tightly contested game against Northwestern on Saturday and were able to hold them off for a 31-24 win. The Golden Bears scored the first 17 points of the game and looked to be heading for a dominant victory, but Northwestern scored the last 17 points of the game and needed to make a late interception to nail down the win.

Golden Bears quarterback Jared Goff went 21-for-34 through the air in that game for 281 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Receiver Trevor Davis caught three passes in the win for 93 yards and one touchdown.
