The SMU Mustangs will have a much more even matchup on their hands on Saturday than they did last week when they take on the North Texas Mean Green.

SMU knew that they had a tough opponent in Baylor in their opening game, but they will still be upset that they were blown out 45-0. SMU had just 67 yards in the game, including negative-24 yards on the ground, while Baylor posted 574 total yards. The Mustangs turned the ball over three times in the game and were just 4-for-18 on third down.

The Mustangs used three quarterbacks in the loss, with Neal Burcham getting the most snaps and going 15-for-36 for just 59 yards. Deion Sanders Jr. returned five kicks in the game for 131 yards, including one return that went 58 yards.

North Texas was able to score against Texas in their first game of the season, but they were also blown out, with the Longhorns winning 38-7. Texas gained 354 yards against the Mean Green defense, while North Texas gained just 94 yards in the loss. North Texas was able to force two Texas fumbles, but they threw four interceptions themselves.

North Texas' starting quarterback Josh Greer went just 2-for-11 in the game for a total of eight yards and two interceptions. Running back Reggie Pegram had 15 carries for 50 yards, but his longest play went for only six yards.
