The Southern Methodist Mustangs (0-11) will be hoping that they can pick up their first win in their last game of the season on Saturday when they go up against the Connecticut Huskies (2-9). SMU defeated Connecticut 38-21 at home last year.

Last Friday, SMU picked up their 11th loss of the year when Houston blew them out 35-9 on their home field. The Mustangs were just 4-for-15 on their third down chances and finished the game with only 223 total yards.

The Mustangs are currently in the bottom two in the country in both scoring and points allowed. Running back Matt Davis has averaged 4.9 yards per carry this season, but he only has a total of 422 rushing yards with three scores. Wide receiver Darius Joseph has caught a team-best 45 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns.

Connecticut lost their third game in a row last Saturday when Memphis beat them 41-10 on the road. In that loss, turned the ball over twice and only ended up with 269 yards of offense.

Through 11 games, the Huskies are scoring just 15.1 points per game while allowing opponents to score 30.1 points per game against them. Quarterback Chandler Whitmer has only thrown for 1,484 yards this season with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Wide receiver Geremy Davis has 41 receptions for 499 yards and three touchdowns.
