The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (6-4) will go on the road to face the high-scoring #10 Michigan State Spartans (8-2) on Saturday. The Spartans are in second place in the Big Ten East standings right now, while Rutgers sits in fifth.

Rutgers snapped their three-game losing streak by beating Indiana 45-23 last weekend. They were able to rush for 212 yards in that win, and their defense forced Indiana into committing three turnovers.

The Scarlet Knights have averaged 26.3 points per game this year, but they have also given up 28.8 points per game to their opponents. Quarterback Gary Nova has had a pretty good season by throwing for 2,212 yards with 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Their top player has been wide receiver Leonte Carroo, who has caught 46 passes for 933 yards and eight touchdowns.

Last Saturday, Michigan State got back on the winning track by blowing out Maryland 37-15 on the road. Their defense was excellent in that win, holding Maryland to just six rushing yards and forcing four turnovers.

The Spartans are currently the 19th-best rushing team in the country by averaging 245.9 rushing yards per game. Running back Jeremy Langford has had a very good season this year by rushing for 1,116 yards with 15 touchdowns. Quarterback Connor Cook has 2,466 passing yards this season with 19 touchdowns and just five interceptions.
