On December 29th, the Russell Athletic Bowl at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida will feature a matchup between the Clemson Tigers and the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Clemson Tigers posted a 9 - 3 record in the regular season after starting off on the wrong foot.  Clemson lost two of their first three games with both losses coming against top ranked opponents (Florida State and Georgia).  But the Tigers rebounded nicely by winning eight of their last nine games as they finished with a two game winning streak.  Clemson has a solid offensive unit and their defense is one of the best in college football.  If the Tigers put all of the pieces together, they will have a shot at their 4th straight 10 win season.  But Oklahoma could pose a challenge to that 10th win.

The Oklahoma Sooners had an 8 -4 season that had its share of highs and lows.  One of the highs was the record breaking 427 rushing yards that freshman running back Samaje Perine put up in the win over Kansas. But there were lows were in each of the four losses where Oklahoma hurt themselves more than their opponents did.  Oklahoma lost their last game against Oklahoma State and a win over Clemson would go a long way to helping them erase that last loss. To get the win, Oklahoma will need to play mistake free football and that isn’t as easy as it sounds.
