The Richmond Spiders, who dominated in their opening game of the year, will hope that they can move to 2-0 when they visit the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday. The Cavaliers and the Spiders last met in 2012 in a game Virginia ended up winning 43-19.

Richmond played Morehead State at home in their first game and outplayed them in very quarter to finish with a 55-10 win. The Spiders passed for 408 yards in the win and ended up putting up 643 total yards while only giving up 309.

Richmond quarterback Michael Strauss went 17-for-23 through the air against Morehead State for 259 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Jeremiah Hamlin carried the ball seven times in the game for 80 yards and two scores. Receiver Brian Brown caught five passes for 110 yards, while Stephen Barnette had six catches for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Virginia lost their opener 28-20 against UCLA last Saturday, but they are probably pretty pleased with themselves because they were huge underdogs in that game. Virginia had 386 total yards in the loss and were able to hold UCLA to just 358 yards.

Cavaliers sophomore quarterback Matt Johns completed 13 of his 22 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Receiver Andre Levrone caught three passes for 75 yards and a score, while Darius Jennings had three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown.
