The Pittsburgh Panthers and the Boston College Eagles were both very impressive in their opening games and will now get a chance to face each other on Friday night.
Pittsburgh faced FCS side Delaware in their first game of the season and were able to blow them out by a score of 62-0. The Panthers were able to gain 409 total yards in the game while holding Delaware to just 31 passing yards and 26 rushing. Pittsburgh chose to focus on running the ball, gaining 409 yards on the ground alone.
The key to the Panthers' offense in that game was sophomore running back James Conner, who rushed the ball 14 times for 153 yards and four touchdowns. Freshman running back Chris James rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Boston College did what they were expected to do against Massachusetts last Saturday by beating them 30-7 on the road. They posted 511 total yards in the game and held UMass to just 202. The Eagles rushed or 338 yards in the game, which was the 11th highest rushing total in the country over the weekend.
Quarterback Tyler Murphy did just about everything for the Eagles in that game: He passed for 173 yards and one touchdown, and he rushed for 118 yards and another TD. Wide receiver Josh Bordner had four catches for 81 yards and one TD in the game.
