On Saturday, the solid rushing attack of the Boston College Eagles (7-5) will be facing the tough defense of the Penn State Nittany Lions (6-6) in the Pinstripe Bowl. The Eagles ended up in fourth place in the ACC Atlantic this year, while the Nittany Lions were a disappointing sixth in the Big Ten East.

In their final regular season game, Boston College was able to easily defeat Syracuse 28-7 at home. Their defense was very good in that win, holding Syracuse to just 128 total yards.

The Eagles will be going into their bowl game as the 15-best rushing team in the country by averaging 251.8 rushing yards per game. Quarterback Tyler Murphy has 1,526 passing yards, 1,079 rushing yards and 21 total touchdowns this season. Running back Jon Hilliman has 712 rushing yards with a team-high 12 touchdowns.

Penn State's regular season finale was against highly-ranked Michigan State, who came into town and beat them 34-10. The Nittany Lions were just 6-for-16 on their third down opportunities in that loss and only ended up with 233 total yards of offense.

The Nittany Lions currently have the eighth-best defense in the nation by only allowing their opponents to score 17.7 points per game against them. Quarterback Christian Hackenberg has not had a very good season, throwing for 2,606 yards with eight touchdown passes and 15 interceptions.
