The Oregon State Beavers (4-2) will go up against the Stanford Cardinal (4-3) in a Pac 12 matchup on Saturday afternoon. Last season, the Cardinal defeated the Beavers 20-12 on the road.

Oregon State played well defensively against Utah in their last game, but they still ended up losing 29-23 in double overtime. They only had 119 rushing yards in that loss and they were 4-for-17 on their third down chances.

The Beavers have had a problem moving the ball on the ground this season, averaging just 130 rushing yards per game. Running back Terron Ward has been Oregon State's best offensive player this season by rushing for 412 yards with six touchdowns and averaging five yards per carry.

Stanford wasn't able to score a touchdown until the third quarter in their game against Arizona State last weekend and ended up taking a 26-10 road loss. They rushed for just 76 yards in that game and they turned the ball over two times.

The Cardinal have the second-best defense in the country right now after giving up just 12.3 points per game through their first seven games. Quarterback Kevin Hogan has thrown for 1,537 yards this season with 11 touchdowns and just four picks, and he has also rushed for three touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Ty Montgomery has caught 43 passes this year for 441 yards and three scores.
