The #8 Ohio State Buckeyes (8-1) will have another big test on their hands when they visit the Minnesota Golden Gophers (7-2) on Saturday afternoon. The Buckeyes are currently atop the Big Ten East standings, while the Golden Gophers are tied in first in the Big Ten West.

Last weekend, Ohio State was able to pick up their seventh win in a row when they beat #8 Michigan State 49-37 on the road. They converted 10 of their 14 third down opportunities in that win, and they ended up with 568 total yards.

Through nine games, the Buckeyes have the fourth-highest scoring team in the country by averaging 46 points per game. Quarterback J.T. Barrett has been one of the best players in the country this season by compiling 2,156 passing yards, 582 rushing yards and 34 total touchdowns. Running back Ezekiel Elliott has rushed for 863 yards with seven touchdowns.

Minnesota had their best offensive performance of the season last Saturday when they blew out Iowa by the score of 51-14. They didn't have a turnover in that win and they finished the game with 429 total yards.

The Golden Gophers have been able to score 30.7 points per game this year while only giving up 21.3 points per game. Their top player this season has been running back David Cobb, who has 1,205 yards on the ground with eight touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Mitch Leidner has 1,225 passing yards on the season with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.
