The Northwestern Wildcats (4-6) will try to build off of their upset win last weekend when they face the Purdue Boilermakers (3-7) on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats and the Boilermakers are currently fifth and sixth, respectively, in the Big Ten West.

Northwestern snapped their four-game losing skid last Saturday when they beat Notre Dame 43-40 in overtime. They gained 547 yards on offense in that win, including 263 yards on the ground.

Northwestern's defense has been very good this season, but their offense has only been able to score 20.5 points per game. Their best offensive threat has been running back Justin Jackson, who has rushed for 910 yards and six touchdowns this season. Quarterback Trevor Siemian has 2,121 passing yards with six touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Two weeks ago, Purdue lost their fourth game in a row when they were defeated 34-16 by Wisconsin at home. They didn't have any turnovers in that loss, but they only ended up with 230 yards on offense, including just 26 yards on the ground.

The Boilermakers have struggled to move the ball through the air this season, averaging just 187.5 passing yards per game. Running back Akeem Hunt has averaged 5.4 yards per carry this year and has 718 yards with five touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Austin Appleby has thrown for 1,075 yards with eight touchdowns and six picks.
