The Northwestern Wildcats (3-6) are going to have a hard time ending their long losing streak on Saturday afternoon as they have to go on the road to face the #15 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-2).

Northwestern lost their fourth game in a row last Saturday when they were beaten 10-9 by Michigan. They had negative-9 yards rushing in that loss and they ended up turning the ball over three times.

Northwestern's defense has played well this season, but their offense is one of the worst by scoring just 18 points per game. Running back Justin Jackson has averaged 4.3 yards per carry this season and has 761 yards with five touchdowns. Quarterback Trevor Siemian has 1,837 passing yards with five touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Last weekend, Notre Dame's playoff hopes were dashed when they were beaten 55-31 by Arizona State on the road. They did outgain ASU 487-412 in that game, but they also turned the ball over five times, including four interceptions.

The Fighting Irish are currently 16th in the nation in passing with 306.3 passing yards per game. Senior quarterback Everett Golson has struggled recently, but he still has 2,757 yards with 24 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions on the season. Sophomore wide receiver William Fuller has had a breakout season by catching 52 passes for 694 yards with a team-high 10 touchdowns.
